Excitement of Educational Toys

Filed under: Uncategorized — allaboutme @ 6:00 pm

To raise a child smart and bright,
The “tools” you use, are must be right!

To build a long-lasting beautiful house you will need: the right tools, the high quality material and a knowledgeable person to do that. Nobody will start building a house without proper education, great understanding and a proven plan. And no house can be built without strong and solid foundation.

Don’t you agree raising an intelligent, smart child is a similar process? Don’t you think that to be just a Parent is not enough? Don’t you feel we, as parents, have a great deal of responsibility; the “house” we are building should not collapse under the wind, should survive earthquakes and hurricanes? Do we have a sufficient education? Do we have “the right tools”? Do we use the materials of the highest quality? Sometimes, choosing the right answer is quite a puzzling task.

There is no need to get a bachelor degree in “parenting”, and “diploma” is not required to raise a child. Clear vision, great determination and desire are essential in this challenging and exciting process. And it is crucially important to understand and be aware of what “the right tools” are. With tons of information and commercials coming our way every day, it is a bit confusing to make the best choice for your child. What should we consider: computer game or developmental puzzle game; electronic toy or simple educational wooden toy; Barbie doll or old-fashion bright hand puppet? With a lot of factors to think about, choosing the right toy of an educational, developing and learning nature is a very difficult job.

A child’s brain develops in a predictable sequence from the least complex functions to the most complex. The interaction of our genetic inheritance (nature) and environment (nurture) determines how child brain will develop. Providing our children with the right educational toys ensures ongoing stimulation and properly balanced child development. Our experiences affect our brain development. What we see, hear, smell, taste and touch are experiences, which make connections in our brain and make us smarter. Connections that we repeat become stronger. To find the most appropriate educational toys that stimulate child developmental, learning progress and fun for children to play with, it is vitally important. Choosing the right developmental toys and games will create the most wonderful and motivating experience for your child.

Ignite the passion for learning in your child with exciting and inspiring educational toys and games! There are many great child activities to try: color and shapes recognition, first letters and early reading, imaginative and logical thinking or basic math practice - just to name a few. There are games, which are easy to play, but teach like tutor, and the others - are exciting board games and stimulating activity for all family. Educational toys and games are simple and fun way to capture children’s attention and interest. At the same time, they playfully challenge children to learn and master life essential skills.

Follow your own instincts; memorize your own childhood with books, games and “plain toys”. Spend more quality time with your children, play and interact with them, read and tell them stories. Do not let your kids sit alone with electronic toy or in front of the computer or TV for long hours! Chose right, and enjoy watching your precious child growing strong, smart and capable of any achievement!

Dealing With CHANGE: The Wind In Your Face

Filed under: Uncategorized — allaboutme @ 2:55 pm

A young man, with more money than sense, buys the hottest, fastest, most expensive sports car available — a Ferrari GTO — and takes it out for a spin. He stops at a light, and an old man on a moped pulls up next to him. “What kind of car yaw’ got there, sonny?” “A brand new Ferrari GTO. It cost a quarter of a million dollars!” “That’s a lot of money”. “Why does it cost so much?” “Because it’s the hottest, fastest car there is - it can do up to 320 miles per hour!” “Mind if I look inside?” “No problem.” The old man leans into the window as far as he can and looks around, then sitting back said, “That’s pretty slick, all right!”

Just then the light changes. The young man decides to show the old man just what his car can do. He floors it, and within 30 seconds the speedometer reads 160 mph. Suddenly, he notices a dot in his rear view mirror. It seems to be getting closer and then suddenly . . . hhhooooosssshhh! Something whips by him, going much faster!

“What on earth could be going faster than my Ferrari?” the young man thinks. Then, ahead of him, he sees a small dot coming straight toward him. Whooooosh! It goes by again, heading in the opposite direction! “Couldn’t be.” “How could a man on a moped outrun a Ferrari?” But again, he sees a dot in his rear view mirror. Whoooosh, Kabbbblaaammm! It plows into the back of the car, demolishing the rear end.

The young man jumps out of the car and sees - it IS the old man! He runs up to him lying on the concrete and says, “Oh, dear - Is there anything I can do?” The old man wheezes, “Young feller, could you unhook my suspenders from your side-view mirror?”

Sometimes in life, you can feel just like the old man. The faster you move forward, the more the wind blows against your face. Encountering difficulty and resistance? It’s because you’re making significant progress. Those who have no problems ever venture to accomplish anything. Those who face the most challenges, often create the most value. When a particular problem arises, it’s because you have progressed to the point where you can deal with it and are ready for where it can bring you. See obstacles as a gateway, that’s their true value. Each new challenge is a stepping-stone to meaningful accomplishment. So, feel the stiff wind as it blows against your face. You’re feeling your rapid movement forward!

Nature won’t let us stay in any one place too long- just long enough to gather the experience necessary for the soul’s unfolding. The Universe never gives you more than you are capable of handling.

In every person’s life there have been instances, which seemed completely shattering, (I’ve had my share!) It takes perception and patience to see beyond what appears to be useless and painful. Appreciate that the larger system, the Good, remains intact no matter how chaotic everything in our own little world may seem. We live in a spiritual Universe that is governed by spiritual law and intelligence.

No matter how frightening a situation may be, it is still transitory. Only the Good is lasting. The rest ‘came to pass.’ Look back in your life and recall the times when you were frantic over some crisis or misfortune that seemed to be the end of everything. Where is that challenge now? Where are the people who were standing in the way of your Good?

When change seems to be THRUST upon you and it looks like it’s ‘happening TO you”, don’t get all hung up in the “story.” Sit back, wait for a deeper meaning to be revealed. It will!

If the wind of change is chafing your face lately, commit to NOT telling the story for at least 1 week - not even to yourself! Just be with it. Invite the answer to this question: What greater understanding, what deeper awareness of the Law’s operation in my life is this experience offering me? Then, sit back and enjoy the ride!

Dog Training Solutions: when Whining isn’t Cute

Filed under: Uncategorized — allaboutme @ 7:49 am

I have to admit it. I think it’s cute when my dog whines. Even adorable. That’s because she whines for only two reasons: 1) When she sees a dog friend she really likes and she wants to be allowed to greet them and play; and 2) when she sees a human friend she really likes and she wants to be allowed to greet them and play. This prelude to play is music to my ears, since I know it’s a short - and by all measures, sweet - song that she sings. Of course, not all dog owners have reason to feel the same.

Dogs can whine for many reasons, and dealing with this habit is almost always a matter of reading the signs right.

Pain

This cause is the least common but also the most important one to rule out first. A dog whose whining comes on suddenly and is fairly steady afterward is possibly reacting to pain. Even puppies can have severe growing pains or genetic conditions that cause great discomfort, so you should not rule out this reason for puppies.

Usually, you can palpate areas of the dog’s body, paying close attention to legs and the tail. To check for arthritis, which often develops first in the rear hips, you can try this:

1. stand over your dog with your legs on either side of they’re torso, with the head facing behind you.

2. Gently lift their hindquarters up with one arm, and then lift each leg up and out behind them with the other.

3. You should then be able to release the hand that is supporting their body, and in effect, suspend them by one extended leg at a time. A pain free dog will be able to flex this leg comfortably, even with all their back weight on it. Any hip pain, they will jerk away and you’ll hear it from them.

Check their ears (a painful ear infection will also bring lots of scratching or head shakes, and a discoloration and / or odor of the ear membrane). Check their mouth. Tooth problems can not only cause pain, but an over-dry mouth can be an indication of extreme discomfort or even fear. In all cases, if you think your dog is whining from pain, but can’t find the source, take a trip to the vet.

Fear

Fear can itself be another cause for whining. Often this behavior is short-lived and the stimulus is likely to be fairly easy to recognize. One tip is simply not to encourage the fearful behavior but emphatically comforting your dog when the fear is not warranted. In other words, if you comfort and soothe them in response to a thunderstorm, this will send the message that the thunder is in fact putting them in some danger and they SHOULD be afraid of. Instead, you should act like it’s no big deal, perhaps even distract your dog with play. Of course, if you happen to be afraid of thunderstorms as well, then you’re out of luck on this one.

Boredom or Loneliness

Two further common causes of whining are boredom and loneliness. They are treated separately simply because boredom whining is what a dog does when you’re there and loneliness whining is what they do when you’re away. The first means that you probably are not giving your dog as much exercise as they really need, even though you think it gets out as much as a dog should or as much as you can possibly let it. Enough said.

With lonely whining dogs, you’ll have to do your best to spend more quality time with them, get them more tired out when you do, and consider the possibility that you may have a full-blown case of separation anxiety on your hands. This will require extra patience and training, and there are plenty of detailed training programs available to address this.

Until then, enjoy the music.

OK, The House Is On Fire. Which One Do You Save First — The Baby, The Old Testament, The New Testament, Or The Koran?

Filed under: Uncategorized — allaboutme @ 12:11 am

Do you save one of the books of holy writ or the helpless babe? Be fair. You can only save one. No time for two. The flames are at your fanny.

Yes, there’s some chance you can go back for a second rescue attempt, but right now the hope is too risky to influence your decision.

Let’s say you pick one of the books. What will the people, who happen to see your choice through a flame-fraught window, think of you? And, as you rush out of the incinerating house and the baby goes up in flames with it, how will they welcome you?

Now, let’s say you decide to save the baby and make for the exit. What will the people looking in the window think of you now? And when you rush out with the infant in your arms, while the house and its remaining contents are going up in flames, how will they greet you?

Even more to the point, which choice will make them think you’re more religious?

Now, imagine that the house is the world aflame with terrorism, war, and an occasional inquisition and the baby is any person’s life or, since we’re at a particularly risky time, all of human life.

If you would still pick one of the books and leave the baby to the flames, please, answer the following four questions.

1. Did the book teach you to make the choice you did?

2. Did you possibly misunderstand the overall intent of the book?

3. Do people think more highly of your religion because of what you did?

4. Will the God the book teaches you to serve reward you for your behavior?

Now, let’s imagine something even more terrible. What if the fire didn’t start by accident but you set it to kill the baby - and the people looking in the window saw you light it?

Once again, please answer the four questions.

Since we can never know what the potential of any baby is until it has had time to grow up and reveal it, what if you learned that the baby was actually the infant Moses, Jesus, or Mohammed, come back to update his teachings.

Once again, please answer the four questions.

Let us express our own opinion.

We think, if you chose the babe, you are an ethical person and your religion is to be commended for whatever it has inculcated in you about right behavior.

On the other hand, if you chose the book, we think you are an unethical person and your religion cannot be commended for the values it has inculcated in you. Since you could choose which values in the book would guide you, we are willing to concede that you are primarily responsible for your behavior.

Now, let’s talk about eternal prospects.

If you believe in one God, as all three books encourage you to do, then, not matter what name you call Him, He is the ultimate source of none other than the babe.

What about the book? Even though you maintain it was inspired by the God you believe in, it was recorded and passed down by men in the hope of communicating the sort of behavior they believed God told them is good.

Now, we come to the big question. Back at the burning building, what choice would such a God make? We believe He would choose the baby.

Why? The tyke is none other than the very embodiment of life itself.

Certain reformative conclusions seem to follow:

Incinerating people is not the way to please God; therefore, it is not the way to be whisked off to a heavenly reward.

Incinerating people is not the way to distinguish a religion, particularly one that is inspired by such a God. It is, in fact, the most likely way to disgrace it or, if you will, to pull the prayer rug out from under it.

Finally, we maintain you are much more likely to serve what you consider the Creator of life by putting the babe, or any other life, first.

We hope you found enough merit in this article to agree that it merits a place in our current perusal of the world’s persistently explosive events.

By the way, if you’re in a life-affirming mindset and would like to learn more about the commendable idea of putting life first, regardless of what else you believe, we suggest you go to www.toreasonpublishing.com, where you can enjoy a free read of the highly commendable and soundly reasoned book by Charles Blaise, Life Itself As A Modern Religion.

Help, My Polar Bear Has Dental Caries!

Filed under: Uncategorized — allaboutme @ 4:03 pm

If someone owns a polar bear with dental caries, that guy has a big problem: he owns a polar bear! Besides being dangerous, illegal, unethical and unmoral, owning a polar bear has to be very expensive.

Most of us never had, and will never have, to deal with health issues of polar bears. However, zookeepers and veterinarians have to deal with animal health issues everyday, and sometimes with polar bear’s teeth decay.

Health issues of a captive animal directly affect the biological and psychological welfare of that animal. So, quick diagnostic procedures are, or should be, a priority for modern zoos.

But, how to know if the polar bear has dental caries? Or the elephant is shortsighted? Or the penguin has lost weight? Well, some modern zoos are using positive training (reward-based training) as a quick and non-invasive way to assess health issues in captive wild animals.

Through positive training, which is based on principles of operant conditioning, some modern zoos have obtained the cooperation of their animals during diagnosis.

It is quite fascinating to know that polar bears open their mouth to let the vet check their teeth, penguins voluntarily step on a scale so zookeepers can weight them, tigers offer their tales to let the vet get a blood sample, and diabetic chimpanzees voluntarily extend their arms to receive their daily injections.

But it is even more fascinating to know all those amazing things happen because of mutual respect and cooperation between zookeepers and animals that have been trained without any punishment.

While this kind of training is not new, it was not accepted by zoos until a few decades ago. It was Karen Pryor, a biologist and dolphin trainer, one of the few scientists that strongly promoted positive training as an effective way to deal with captive animals.

Practitioners of her training method, known as clicker training, are increasing quickly.

Positive training should be part of enrichment programs of every current zoo and aquarium in the world. Hopefully, it will become a standard part of zoo procedures in the following years.

While training shouldn’t be the only way of environmental/behavioral enrichment, it certainly can play an important role in any enrichment program.

Hopefully, environmental and behavioral enrichment guidelines will find grater acceptance beyond zoos and aquaria. It would be great to find those guidelines while reading books about dogs, cats, hamsters or any other pet. I believe this will happen soon.

Meanwhile, keep yourself away from polar bears with dental caries.

The Leo Wanta Saga, Pt. 28: White House Said Will Release Wanta $4.5 Trillion “When We Are G… Damn Ready!”

Filed under: Uncategorized — allaboutme @ 8:51 am

As pressure is being put on the White House by foreign banks and heads of state to release the $4.5 trillion Wanta money, Michael C. Cottrell, the treasurer of the company formed to distribute the money for the benefit of the American people, remains “highly optimistic the trillions will soon be released.

“Yes, we are encouraged we will get the money released soon,” said Cottrell in a Wednesday telephone conversation. “There is a lot of pressure from around the world being put on the White House. The heat is being turned up and I just found out the Chinese have taken $5 trillion of the $32 trillion they are owed from the U.S. government. They are backing Ambassador Wanta and pushing for the release of his money.”

Cottrell added that one of his inside sources in Washington D.C. recently notified him that officials in the White House said the following in response to Cottrell and Ambassador Wanta’s request for the money:

“We will do it when we are G** damn ready!”

Wanta and Cottrell, who together formed AmeriTrust Groupe, Inc. to oversee proper distribution of the massive amount of money, were hoping the money would be released by the end of the business day on Sept. 7, the same day the Chinese were also to be paid trillions by the U.S. government for prior investment gains.

However, the deadline passed without the Wanta $4.5 trillion being paid and still being illegally withheld in a Clearing House Interbank Payment System credit account (CHIPS), an account credited to Goldman Sachs and Co. at Citibank.

In what has become known in international financial circles as one of the most important and explosive stories in the history of modern banking, the Wanta settlement has been the subject of a Bush administration cover-up ever since Ambassador Wanta entered into an official written agreement in November 2005 to repatriate money for the betterment of the American economy.

Further, in May Wanta verbally agreed to the distribution of the $4.5 trillion with President Bush along with the assistance of one Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) court judge and two U.S. Supreme Court Justices.

The settlement, also negotiated with the help of two major U.S. law firms, represents only a portion of the $27.5 trillion offshore fund established at the end of the Cold War, which is now under the legal control of Ambassador Wanta, as duly appointed trustor, a position given to him by former President Ronald Reagan.

In other financial ramifications concerning the failure of U.S. authorities to release the Wanta money, Christopher Story, editor of the International Currency Review in London, recently reported:

“Chinese interests, acting independently of Ambassador Leo Wanta and his business colleague Michael C. Cottrell, M.S., have ‘pulled’ five or six ‘CHIPS’ already. The Chinese are using the British pound for oil payments purposes. The pound is therefore likely to appreciate over the weeks ahead.

“Can someone please explain to the Editor of International Currency Review why it is that, seven weeks after we first published this information (also published in the Arctic Beacon), which anyone could check for themselves, the U.S. Treasury implemented the fantastic carousel financing arrangements that were described in the Editor’s Posting dated 2nd September 2006 [subsequently updated], which use the ‘assets’ of some GSEs as collateral? It is as though Mr. Paulson (Sec. of U.S. Treasury) went to the cupboard, opened it, found it not only to be bare, but without walls and a floor, slammed the cupboard shut, and then represented to the world that the cupboard is full of food so that we can all eat and be merry for years to come.

“Nor is the phrase ’scraping the bottom of the barrel’ appropriate, since the barrel has no bottom to scrape. No wonder the Chinese are using the pound for oil payments.”

Cottrell recently said in a recent Arctic Beacon article that in lieu of nonpayment, Ambassador Wanta “has already lowered the hammer,” notifying the major banks in Europe, save Deutsche Bank, who have all agreed to put “stop orders” on any transactions with the U.S. government of $100 million or more.

“Most of the major banks in Europe other than Deutsche Bank have already agreed to the stop orders based on the failure to pay Ambassador Wanta,” said Cottrell, including Credit Swiss and UBS. “We have asked the Chinese but I have not heard confirmation that they will go ahead and pull the $32 trillion owed in CHIPS. However, given that President Bush and Paulson cut a deal with Viet Nam and Taiwan whether the Chinese pull the CHIPS is irrelevant because they now have a cash flow through the system that allows them to stash more money away.

“What is most aggravating to me is that the President of the United States and the Secretary of the Treasury have made a deal with a communist country to circumvent an American company from paying taxes. That is what makes me angry because these guys go over and strike a deal to circumvent the American people. They essentially would rather cut a deal in Hanoi then allow us to pay the $1.6 trillion in taxes and use the rest of the money for the betterment of the American economy.”

“Besides alerting European banks about nonpayment, Cottrell said he didn’t want to “tip his hand” on future plans to secure release of the $4.5 trillion, saying he fears the U.S. government would use this information to circumvent their plans.

Lose Weight Quickly

Filed under: Uncategorized — allaboutme @ 1:40 am

Every person that begins a diet and exercise plan does so with the intention to become healthier and lose weight. How to lose weight quickly is a common question, which is why some people enlist the help of a personal trainer to guide them through the diet and exercise maze. Of course, diet and exercise is the healthiest way to lose weight, but it does take some time.

As fat is replaced by muscle, calories are burned more efficiently and a leaner appearance is the result. Sometimes it’s easy to get discouraged with this approach, but progress cannot be measured solely on what the scale reads. Muscle weighs more than fat, and many times weight stays the same or only decreases at small increments. Though it may not seem like much, weight loss is occurring at a steady rate.

Diet and exercise is great but in most cases, the weight doesn’t just melt off like some people expect it to, which is why people want to know how to lose weight quickly. Depending on how much weight someone wants to lose, there are lots and lots of ways how to lose weight quickly. Low carbohydrate diets such as Atkins and the South Beach Diet are a good way to lose weight quickly, a lot if needed. Dieters can usually lose from five to ten pounds relatively quickly, but dieters should still be aware of their nutritional intake and not restrict themselves too much. Low carbohydrate diets emphasize eating greater amounts of protein, while restricting consumption of carbohydrates and refined sugars. Once these foods are eliminated cravings will decrease, and the pounds will start to melt off as well.

For more ideas on how to lose weight quickly, dieters can visit the web to check out a multitude of sources with lots of good information on dieting, what plans works and which one’s to stay away from. Both Atkins and the South Beach Diet can guide people who want to learn how to lose weight quickly, and keep it off. After losing weight it is easy to slip back into the clutches of bad habits. Now why would anyone want to do that after working so hard to get the weight off? In addition to learning how to lose weight quickly, dieters need to learn how to completely change their eating habits for good. Being healthy is much better than the alternative.

GO TO WWW.GREATGASDEALS.COM FOR MORE GREAT GAS SAVINGS TIPS

It has become an unfortunate fact in the past few years, that gasoline prices may be straining your family’s budget. Maybe you want to stop the flow of US money to countries such as Saudi Arabia & Iran, or help stem the process of global warming, or you just might want to help the enviroment by reducing your use of oil, a limited resource.

The Fuel Economy Numbers

In plain english, fuel economy ratings are the mpg numbers posted on the price sticker of a new car. Studies have shown that the average driver receives less than 80 percent of the economy figures that are on that dealer’s price sticker.

You can use these numbers to determine the numbers will let you know how many mpg your vehicle will get, so you can compare vehicles and then go from there.

Hybrid - Pricing

The new gas electric hybrid vehicles are normally priced higher than non hybrid counterparts. they usually are at least two thousand dollars more than the comparable gas vehicle, and can be up to eight thousand more depending on the manufacturer. Hybrids are usaually much more fuel efficient than their gas counterparts, with many averaging around 45 - 55. This is great for those who want to save money on gas, as hybrids can go many miles on a full tank of gas and they come with extended warranties.

Diesel Engines - Benefits & Costs

Diesel fueled vehicles are yet another energy efficient option. Diesels, will generally get better mileage than a comparable gas fueled car or truck. They offer much better torque than many gasoline engines. Also, the price differential between diesel and gas vehicles, is much less than that of a hybrid.

With so many different options available, you’re sure to find what you need to conserve fuel. Before making your final selection, always remember to shop around and find what’s the best choice for your budget.
